Alright, so anyone who is interested in Mass Effect 3 has seen this trailer at this point. I am a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, and overall a big fan of the style of gameplay that Bioware is known for. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic to this day goes down as one of my favorite game experiences.
If the VGA trailer is anything to go by, this game is going to be quite epic. It also does a pretty good job of showing how they are continuing to streamline the gameplay. The movements look quick and responsive, the camera is not in any way obtrusive. It looks good.
It also sets the stage for what to expect in the form of epicness in this final chapter. Shit is getting real for Shepard and crew, this can not be denied. I am however, hoping that the scene showed here is not how the game will always play out. Otherwise, we might end this series on something that might as well be another Metal Gear Solid 4.
Anyone who has played Metal Gear Solid 4 knows what I mean when they see this trailer. The fact that the whole damn game is pretty much a movie that occasionally has gameplay. I really don’t want my Mass Effect to be a ‘play for 20 minutes, watch a movie for 2 hours’ styled experience. We only need one of those in the world, and MGS 4 can have that market. If my action is constantly interrupted by FMV’s in this game, I’m going to be pissed.
